Orientation and Mobility of Deafblind People

 

Deafblindness is a unique disability that combines in varying degrees both hearing and visual impairment, It causes difficulties in orientation and mobility. Teaching orientation and mobility with a red and white cane is part of our free social services. Its aim is the highest possible independence of a deafblind persons in regularly visited places.  Whether indoors (at home, at work, at school, etc.) or outdoors (the route to the doctor, office, work, shopping, school, relatives etc.). Training is focused on mastering the art of red and white cane technique and techniques of movement, acquisition, adoption and use of information necessary for safe independent mobility.
